Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are your terms and conditions for your tours?
We have specific terms and conditions for each tour, and they will be on the registration form where you will need to sign that you have read and agree.
  • Can we request special seating?
Your comfort is important to us. We will do our best to accommodate depending on the reason. If you suffer from nausea or vertigo, we will do our best to accommodate you but we ask that you also take medications for your symptoms as you would for another travel. For all other seats, we ask that everyone rotate on a daily basis so that everyone has a different viewpoint. Please let us know well in advance if you need special seating as they will be first-come, first-served.
  • I have mobility issues. What do I need to know?
Most of our tours are comfortable for those who use a collapsible walker or a cane. Each tour will have a designated activity level marked so that you can assess if it’s right for you. If you can independently manage with a walker or cane, you should be good to go! Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or scooters. If you require assistance with mobility, we ask that you travel with a support person to assist you.
  • What documentation do I need?
For travel to the U.S., you will require a Canadian passport that must be valid for 3 months prior to return to Canada. For international travel, your Canadian passport must be valid for 6 months beyond return date to Canada. For tours within Canada, you will need to show government-issued photo identification.
  • What should I expect when travelling with a group?
Are we having fun yet?? When you travel with us, just get on the bus, and leave the rest to us! We offer convenient, stress-free travel! We take care of all the arrangements for you, so you don’t have to. We organize a tour from start to finish, including pick-up points within a reasonable drive from your home. You’ll know the itinerary ahead of time, including the names of hotels we stay at, meals included and not included, attractions and sights we are visiting, and make sure you have free time to relax and enjoy on your own. If we have a tour that includes flights, we’ll even offer a group shuttle to the airport so you don’t have to drive and park!
  • Will there be a Group Leader?
Take me to your leader! Yes! In fact, not only do we organize our groups tours, but we also escort them! We know all the fine details of the entire trip and ensure things go smoothly. And if things happen, as they sometimes do - no need to check in with our head office – we are the head office! We take this responsibility very seriously and prioritize your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. From the moment we greet you, we’re sure you’ll feel welcomed! We strive to do everything we can to make your time with us enjoyable. One of our biggest rewards is seeing our guests enjoying themselves! We also provide family friendly fun on our tours with delightful movies, relaxing music, games (Bingo is a favourite) along with quiet time. A little fun fact – Sylvia Leroux is a Registered Nurse (still working part-time) and can assist accordingly with medical emergencies.
  • What kind of accommodations are included?
We carefully select our accommodations to ensure they meet or exceed our own standards. If we wouldn’t stay there, we’re not going to take you there. We also look for value and choose hotels that offer: Daily hot breakfast! Indoor Pool! Within walking distance to shopping and/or restaurants! Spacious, comfortable rooms with either 2 queen beds or one king bed! 3 ½* star rated or higher! Examples of hotels we stay at are Embassy Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Country Inn & Suites, Drury Hotels, Comfort Inn & Suites, Sheraton Hotels, or local hotels that closely resemble these reputable chains. We’ll always name our hotels in our tours.
  • Is there a single supplement? Can you pair up solo travellers?
Since pricing is based on two or more people sharing a room, the cost increases with having a room to yourself which some solo travellers don't mind at all! While we don't "match" solo travellers, we will introduce those who request a roommate and guide you through the process of ensuring you'll travel well together!
  • Are all meals included and what about dietary restrictions?
We don’t want to see anyone “hangry” so we make sure breakfast is included for our overnight stays. Most days we will include either a lunch or dinner, leaving one meal to enjoy on our own. We also include individually-wrapped snacks for our longer driving days. As for dietary restrictions, please let us know on your booking form what they are, and we will do our best to accommodate by letting the restaurants know ahead of time. Vegetarian and even vegan meals are usually never a problem, however, for those who are gluten or lactose intolerant, we do our very best to ensure our included meals can be accommodated, but we cannot guarantee no cross-contamination. This would have to be done at the restaurant upon request.
  • Is masking required?
We love seeing smiles! But you are welcome to wear one without judgement if it makes you more comfortable. We will also have masks available on board upon request.
  • Do I need to have Covid vaccinations?
We don’t ask if you have them, but we are obligated to follow the regulations of the countries we are entering and travelling from. We’ll let you know and make sure this website is updated as needed!
  • Tipping – who, when and how much?
We encourage tipping for good service! Nearly all service industry workers are paid minimum or below-minimum wages as they are considered to also be receiving tips. The suggested and customary tips at this time are $5 per day, per passenger for the bus driver. Please set that aside in your budget when travelling. Remember, your driver has a big responsibility in keeping us safe and on time. If we are at a hotel, the suggested tip is $5 per day, per room. As housekeeping staff change every day, we recommend leaving the tip when you leave your room each day. For restaurant servers, please tip according to the service you receive. If you’re unhappy with the meal, please bring it to their attention so they can make it right. Most restaurant tipping now is minimum 15 to 20% of your bill.
  • Travel insurance – do I really need it?
Trip Cancellation and Interruption insurance, as well as out-of-Province medical insurance, are strongly recommended and we ask that you ensure you are well protected. Neither Focus Travel and Tours, Trevello Travel Group, nor Sylvia Leroux will be held liable if you do not have adequate insurance. We invite you to click here for a quote to purchase, or please obtain from your usual travel insurance provider. https://b2c.advisormax.ca/tpi2077
